Welcome to the Sisterhood!

Today is my day to tell you a little about myself. I've put it off until the last minute since I don't like to talk about myself and writing....well, I like that even less, lo. But here it goes....

My name is Michaela Harper but everyone calls me “Micki”. I was born and raised in Bad Hersfeld, Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1977. I am married to Chriss who is my biggest supporter, have a 26 year old daughter, Rachelle; an awesome son-in-law, Kyle and two awesome, beautiful granddaughters, Emma & Gracy and grandbaby no. 3 due to arrive in August.

Having been raised in Germany, I‘ve always been exposed to all sorts of crafts. However, scrapbooking didn‘t catch my fancy. I even dabbled in stamping 17 years ago, but at that time that “bug” didn‘t catch my fancy either. (Gasp, imagine that, lol. I jumped on the papercrafting bandwagon about 5 years ago. Yeah, I’m always on the last train it seems, mainly because I dance to the tune of my own drum (you know, the one in my head).

Ok back to being serious. Like I mentioned earlier, I grew up in Bad Hersfeld, Germany where arts & crafts are taught at an early age. Sewing an apron in 1^st grade home economics, knitting a sock and then in 4^th grade, knitting a sweater. Art class included assignments of watercolor flower shop window, Medusa’s head with Caligraphy pens to ornate paper cut-outs called Scherenschnitte. Was I good at any of it? Nope, I convinced my grandmother to knit the sweater for me and my grandfather, who was an artist, to create a masterpiece floral window shop picture. And that was all the crafting I did until I reached middle age. I started to crochet & knit and amazingly it wasn’t as hard as I remembered it. Painting too and then the ‘Trash to Treasure’ craze hit me. Stamping at that time (about 10 years ago) was what seemed to me too time consuming. Bought a couple of stamps, some embossing powders, which by the way I still have, and stored it all away. Enter a Stampin’ Up! Workshop and well, the rest is history as far as stamping & papercrafting goes.

I don‘t have that natural “knack” for art, be it stamping/scrapbooking or photography but I am persistent and keep at it. It‘s fun for me to look back at some of my first card creations, comparing them with a recent project and realizing how my crafting has evolved. I tend to create with the ‘less is more’ philosophy but force myself to step outside of my comfort zone and try new styles. Although I tend to gravitate towards the ‘less is more’ style, I appreciate any crafting style and find inspiration from just about anything. Which kind of leads me to why I started blogging when I hate to write (don't even ask how long it took me to write this up, lol).

I started my blog about 18 months ago. Why? Honestly, because everyone else has one, lol! But mainly because I was so intimidated seeing all these perfect creations and blogs. My crafting is never perfect and at times is very tedious for me so I am hoping to inspire others in some way, be it in creating, photography, or just by providing you that sense of “if she can do it, so can I”.

I have been so very blessed to have met so many awesome, talented, generous & loving people through this craft. The rest of the 'Sisters' are exactly that to me.... family. They have helped me up on more than one occasion. This new challenge blog will be so much more than just a challenge blog. For one, this is a stress free zone, lol. No pressure, just fun, friendship, inspiration.... welcome to The Sisterhood!

I have been crafting since I was a little girl in one way or another. From coloring, to paper doll, Then onto sewing, cross stitching, tole painting, oil panting, Scrap booking, and last but not least card making.. I have loved trying all kinds of crafts. But my real love is paper crafting.. I was introduces to stamping about 6 or 7 years ago, and have been HOOKED ever since.I hope to share this passion with all of you. We have some really awesome challenges, tutorials and discussions lined up for you and look forward to you joining in with us, I cant wait to see all your lovely creations..And getting to know you..

Unlike the rest of my sisters in crafting, I've got very little illustrious and decorated crafting experience (read as pretty much none). I went to a free scrapbooking event with a friend about 6 years ago and I've slowly become a collector of all things card & scrapbooking. Just ask my husband, who laughed at my newest Nestabilities purchase that I "had to have" despite having not spent a moment in the craft room for the last few months. HAHA! Well that's about to change, because I have an amazing group of sisters who have some fabulous challenges headed your way and I'm planning on tagging along for the ride (and challenging you a little, too!)

Hi ya sisters!!

Hi, I'm Diane Davies and I live in Broken Arrow, OK which is basically Tulsa. I am SAHM married to Eric for almost 12 years and have 2 children. My daughter Kaitlyn is 9 years old and has Down syndrome (in the picture above with me). I also have a son Austin who is 7. I love to shop - especially bargain shopping, travel and organizing just about anything. Over the past 20 years I have taken classes in cake decorating, flower arranging, interior design and scrapbooking. I have taught classes at a local scrapbook store last year which I really enjoyed. I love to scrapbook, make cards and do altered art. My blog is called Princess Scrap Girl. I named my blog Princess not because I thought I was one but my friends informed me that I was one. WHAT?!! : O Some friends, huh?! No they really are, they say I'm the Practical Princess. hehe Since I have become a blogger and part of 3 DT's I have met so many wonderful ladies online and in blogland. So a group of these ladies - that's us - decided to create our own blog for us and to meet other creative crafters. This blog is for fun and friendship. Hope you come along for the ride and become one of our sisters too. : )

Introducing Teri-Doodles

Hiya folks!

My name is Teri, not to be confused with our other Terri (with two 'rr's).

We got so confused between us in our gossip group, that I started being called TeriDoodles, so that's what I'm stuck with now - LOL. Not that I mind one bit, 'cause that's what I do - Doodling (oooh, too many doo's here!)

I started crafting when my third child was born, first of all by doing some sketches of my local architecture. I sell cards and momentos in our local Heritage Centre made with these sketches. This inspired me to start cardmaking - and the rest is history - I'm hooked!

I only began blogging last year in May, and I'm addicted to that too. Blame the hubby for that one, he started me in blogland! I have another blog on which I sell my Doodles and Sketches, by the name of Delicious Doodles. You might just get to see a few of my images floating around on this Blog, as my 'sistah's' are kind enough to use them now and again. Oh, and yes, those are my doodlings on the badges here!

I do hope you will join us here with our weekly challenges, which (we hope) will be refreshing and different, and above all, inspirational and FUN!

Hello, Hi, Hola, Aloha, Shalom, Namaste....

And a HUGE WELCOME!!!

My name is Boni Boutelle-Jones, from Bonibleaux Designs. A lot of you already know who I am, one way or another - LOL!! The Sisterhood is a collaboration of friends who want a place to meet, vent, love and share with one another. No matter your color, size or background you are a Sister and welcome here. Our challenges are formatted in a way that leaves so much room for interpretation and creativity and the Sister hostessing the challenge each week is only there to guide you and offer her idea of the challenge that week. Please give us your best and your worst.

Now for me - I am a crafter at heart. I have been crafting since in diapers. I have been in theater and dance since grade school. Performed on stage, did stage and costume design. My love in the arts has transpired over the years but the thing I like best about being creative is the oohs and aahhhs and the fact that I can bring a smile to someone's face - even those people I have never met.

I started stamping and cardmaking seriously about 15 years ago after attending my first SU! party. I started journaling and scrapping when I was a kid and have spent the last four years seriously documenting my family history. It will be the only thing I will be able to give my grand children and great grandchildren and I want them to know that I thought about them even before they were born by leaving a legacy and stories to be shared for generations.

I hope that you come by often and share your stories and art with us and find that special bond with "The Sisterhood". If you haven't felt the excitement yet from my Sisters I'm sure you will catch the bug soon! Keep coming back each day for the newest member and more info for our big day!!

Welcome to the Sisterhood!

HELLO & WELCOME!! My name is Lisa and some of you may know me from my Our2angelsinheaven blog. I am proud to be a founding sister of this wonderful blog comprised of such amazing women. I am honored to call them my Sisters as well as my friends. We started this blog with the intention of having it be a fun place to interact with fellow bloggers who share the same passion as we all do. I am so excited to get the ball rolling. We have so many fun and different challenges lined up for you. I hope that you come on in and play with us!

I am extremely passionate about my crafting. When I am crafting I think of that project and that project only. It is my get away from all the stressful things in my life. I have slowly taken over the second largest room in our house and made it into my craft dungeon. I have plans in the future to move up into our attic which is about 1,200 sq ft...could you imagine if I had a craft room that large!! I get light headed just thinking about it! I am a SAHM with two beautiful baby twin girls who will be 9 months old in a couple of days. I also have two beautiful angels in heaven that I miss dearly. Scrapping is my outlet to the world and my form of therapy. I just love everything about it and have so much fun! Along the way I have met so many wonderful people that I treasure dearly and have a blast talking to in blogland!

I began scrapbooking in the year 2000 with the birth of my youngest niece. I've been card making since last April. I consider myself a "full blown addict" at this time. I love all things paper. Welcome to "The Sisterhood" ... my name is Darlene Pavlick and I am thrilled to be one of the originating SISTERS in "The Sisterhood of Crafters".

Some of you may know me as "akronstamperdpk" over on SCS. I also have a personal blog ... Dar's Crafty Creations ... I'd love to have you stop by! I have been crafting in one form or another for many, many years but only in the past 5-6 years have I found the joy of card making and scrapbooking (I can thank my daughter for that ... thanks Carolyn). I have retired from working outside the home and truly enjoy having plenty of time for my paper crafting.
