We have a NEW SISTER in the Hood!

Happy February Friends!

We are thrilled today to introduce and welcome a new SISTAH to the group!

Diane Hover (Nellie's Nest)

Here's a little bit about Diane . . .

I was so excited to have been asked to be a part of the Sisterhood!!
I am from the great, but very cold (right now) state of Michigan!
I have been paper crafting for so long I can't even remember when I started!
As for a style of paper crafting, I would call it "all over the place"!
I enjoy pretty much all aspects of it!!
Besides my paper crafting I also enjoy gardening!
You will find me most days, weather permitting, in my flower gardens early in the mornings..
I share many of my garden photo's on my blog along with my cards.
I also enjoy sewing.
I think part of the paper crafting "bug" came from sewing,
as I enjoy picking out the beautiful papers as much as I do fabric.
I hope you stop by my blog and take a peek!!

Thanks Diane ...
We are excited to have Diane joining and inspiring us
beginning with our February 12th challenge.

WELCOME to the Sisterhood Diane!

Winter Snowflakes

Hi everyone!  Micki here with our newest challenge details.
Hope everyone is staying warm this winter.  It does seem to be a colder winter season than the previous couple of years, at least here in the Midwest.  And as much as everyone is eagerly anticipating Spring, we thought it a perfect time to challenge you to see the beauty in Winter Snowflakes.  I know I'm hearing some grumbles but seriously, gently falling Winter Snowflakes are beautiful.
So the challenge is to create a project with a Winter Snowflakes theme.
It can be a layout, a card, canvas....
anything as long as there are
Winter Snowflakes
somewhere in your project.
Use Stickles to depict snowflakes, perhaps a layout with fun in the snow pictures, or a canvas with heavy bodied paint to replicate snow covered hills... see where I'm going with this?

Now let's see what the rest of the Sistah's came up with....

first up, a very warm welcome to our January Stepsister
Olga Bester (Elephant Fairies)

Now it's your turn to show us your projects with Winter Snowflakes.

Deadline to enter:
You have until Sunday, February 2nd - 8:00 P.M. (EST).
Winner will be announced Tuesday, February 4th.

Please remember to follow these few simple rules:
  • No backlinking
  • Three (3) entry limit
  • Must follow challenge theme to qualify for prize (when one is available)
  • Direct link to your challenge entry ... not your entire blog.
  • We would really appreciate you turning OFF the word verification.

HAVE FUN!
REMEMBER:  If you're interested in becoming our step sister, place an 'SS' after your name when you submit your creation.

Now ... our 1st challenge of 2014 is:
"Out with the Old, In with the New"
(For this challenge, we are asking you to use a new product on your creation.)

For my creation, the flower embellishments were made with my new product,
the Flourish Flox dies by Memory Box.

Darlene
My new items are:  Stampendous 'sweater' stamp and
the Cottage Cuts 'Winter Wonderland Border' die.

My papers, charm and digi is new and the arch die is old.

JANUARY STEP SISTER

Lisa
My used some old designer paper, twine and a chipboard tag that I have had for literally 5-6 years! I just bought the Envelope Punch board from We R memory keepers and used that for the first time. I love it! I made this matchbox little gift box with it.

I used some new stamps.  The ink splashs and the inside Happy Birthday greeting is from Neat & Tangled and the Keep Calm greeting is from Technique Tuesday.

Now it's your turn to show us your Out with the Old, In with the New ideas.
We can't wait to see what you come up with!
