Let it Snow : Winter Card/Project Challenge

Hello friends of The Sisterhood! Welcome to 2012. We're kicking it off with a little bit of snowy fun for our challenge. Create a card or project with a winter theme! Then let us see them so we can ooh and ahh over the wintery goodness.

I'm not sure about the weather everywhere else, but here in Northern Alberta, it's actually currently snow-free. Seriously. It blows my mind. We've had weather up to 8 degrees Celcius (46 fahrenheit)...in January! Usually we're more like -20C (-4 fahrenheit). The cross country skiing is terrible (if you can even find open trails), but the motorcyclists are loving being able to continue driving. I'm sure by the end of January I'll be wishing for the early January weather ;)

Onto the creations by The Sisters....and the real inspiration for your visit - our takes on the challenge we've set out for you this week. Darlene was once again rocking the challenge and came up with three inspiring beauties for this winter challenge! Lisa was on fire with a fabulously crafty idea inspired by our own Dar =) And Micki....well her and I had similar thoughts on this cool little challenge (time for some warming mitts)!

Welcome to the last challenge of 2011. Can you believe it's almost 2012? I know, me either!

Hi everybody, Micki here. With the hustle and bustle of the holidays, my crafting mojo has left me high and dry which, in a round about way helped me decide our challenge. I picked a favorite of mine. It's a no-fail color challenge and one I use whenever the crafting mojo has left the building.

It's the classic

Black, White and One other accent color.

This one is easy and you can't go wrong, so we hope you join us as we ring in 2012. Ringing in the New Year is exactly what I was thinking when I created my card:

Love that Silhouette

Hi Everyone,

It's time for another challenge here in the Sisterhood.

For this challenge we decided to go with SILHOUETTE style stamps.

SILHOUETTE or shadow stamps make beautiful focal points and smaller stamps can be used to borders, accents or anything else. If you like to create your own backgrounds, such as wrinkle free distress these type of stamps are perfect. Even plain white card stock paired with a silhouette stamp portrays timeless elegance.... so the sky is the limit. And in my case, when the craft mojo is no where to be found, using silhouette stamps is a fail safe for me :-)

Before I share our creations, just a reminder of our challenge rules:

Your project must use a silhouette (shadow) stamp on your project. Please link back to this blog and there is a 3 project limit.

I am Priyanka, I am from India, I am a research scholar here, but I am so much addicted to art and craft from my early childhood, I darw and paint at first after that my interest grown in card making I love all things make by my self for my card.it 's a great honor Sisterhood give me to be their GDT, I am so happy and excited.

Hi, my name is Trina. You may have seen me around on the crafting sites; my big, curly hair makes me easy to spot! :D I've always been into crafts, but I just started making cards about a year ago. Since then, I've made some great crafty friends and fallen completely in love with digi stamps and Copic markers! I'm really quite excited to be a a Guest Design Team member with the Sisterhood this month!
This is what Trina came up with for her Father's Day project.

She made an altered compostioin notebook/journal for my boyfriend's brother to write to his new (7 months) son. This is my present for their first Father's Day! (They're a Sr./Jr. duo; that's the reason for the squared initials on the front.)

It's an Easter Eggstravaganza

Or at least that's what I'm calling it because hey, it's my turn to host! Tanis here with the challenge - and this time around, we're celebrating Easter. C'mon...how can you not celebrate - it's the time when the most chocolates are sold. Alright, I may have made that up, but it can't be far off from Valentines or Halloween where chocolate is also in abundance. Plus, there's usually lots of cute bunnies & chicks around - and when you live in the cold North of Canada, signs of spring are always a good thing!

This challenge even has a bonus...my sweet friends at AmberInk are sponsoring the challenge. Participating in this challenge could net you a gift certificate for some fun new stamps (digis or clear) or iPapers. You will have until noon (Mountain Time) on Sunday, April 24th to show us your Easter best and then we'll be doing some winner-picking. We've have whipped up some fabulous Easter eye candy, but I'm going to start you off with something a little different - edible eye candy! Hello I am Suzanne aka Suzie McFloozy I am a SAHM to two very energetic (and super noisy !) boys aged 2 and 5 and wife to Kevin my lovely hubby of eleven years and counting. I started crafting when I had Issac, my eldest son, and I decided to make the birth announcements. Soon after I discovered scrapbooking and it was a perfect showcase for all the photo's that I was snapping of my new baby ! As my children grow, and spend less time sleeping, cardmaking has become my fav pastime as I can still play with all my craft stash but actually get a project finished in an evening ! My favorite techniques are stamping and using the huge array of digi's out there. And I love trying out new ways to colour in my images. I also love to make handmade flowers for my cards and try out lots of different styles x This is only my second GDT spot and I'm super excited to be here - thanks to all the girls at sisterhood of crafters for having me x Well that's enough from me lets get crafting !

Let's Hear It For The Boys......

Hi Everyone! This is Micki and I will be your hostess for another fun-filled challenge?

First I want to say "Thanks" to everyone who played along with us for our last challenge. Wow, you guys always amaze and inspire me. And I must say, I just love the different takes of the projects submitted.

Alright about our challenge. With Spring in the air, we all tend to do the more 'girly' colors and themes at least I do. That means I never have any masculine cards or projects handy.

This challenge we want to see anything that is

masculine, boy or man themed!

Like the title says: Let's hear it for the Boys! And we love to see variety so as long as it fits the theme, any type of craft item can be entered!

My name is Abi, I'm a Mum to 2 girls. Unlike many people who craft, I haven't been a crafter for years & years. I'd done a bit of cross stitch & inspired a friend to take up card making (which I told her I couldn't do as I had no imagination!) and she made such fabulous cards, I was in turn encouraged by her to start card making. I also scrapbook but there never seems to be enough time to do as much as I'd like. In true crafting style, what started out as 1 small box 5 years ago has grown to take over a substantial area of my house! I've tried most techniques & my current favourite is stamping. I love the versatility of stamps, there are so many techniques to use. I've been a blogger for around 18 months now & love the sense of community. There are always people ready to share their knowledge, ideas & tips. I believe that you never stop learning & you can learn from everyone. I'm very proud to be the March guest designer & look forward to sharing inspiration with you.

What an awesome collection of entries this week. You guys have certainly inspired me and it was so much fun to see Birthday cards ranging from whimsical, beautiful to sassy, classy and elegant! I definitely had fun making my rounds!

Wow, did we have fun last week with our Fall Themed Challenge! This week, let's get ready to party.... as in BIRTHDAY party! I don't know about you guys, but I never, ever seem to have enough BIRTHDAY cards! Especially around the holidays because I'm so focused on making our family holiday cards that I tend to forget that in our family we have a birthday every week in December until mid January. (Yeah, by the time the last birthday rolls around which is mine, we are all totally burned out on any type of celebration and thend to ignore it all together, lo).

For the Sister's Choice Challenge this week I am going to challenge you to make a "fall card and incorporate leaves as part of the design". For my card, I chose this adorble "Squirrel" image from Delicious Doodles and colored him with Prisma colored pencils and thinner. The background paper is from K & Co. and my friend & 'sistah', Darlene was kind enough to let me use her Nestibilities leaf die and Cuttlebug for embellishments.

A "Boo-rific" Challenge

Good morning everyone and welcome to our "Boo-rific" challenge at the Sisterhood. Lisa B. here and I will be hosting the challenge this week. For some reason Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I just love the colors, or maybe it is just because it is a fun Halloween. Ah heck it's the candy I love!!!

This week we would LOVE to see you make any project or creation that is related to Halloween. Oh my gosh, there is soooo many ideas I had and the possibilities were endless. I normally go overboard for Halloween but due to some family issues I just didn't have the time sadly to come up with one of my outrageous creations. Good thing my Sistah's did!!

We have some great Halloween inspiration for you from our design team. We hope you have fun with this challenge and show us some creepy crawly, fangilicious (I know that is not a word but it sounded good!), frightfully colorful and fun creations.

Color My World

Happy Wednesday everyone!
First I have to say that last week's entries were awe inspiring, I missed playing along last week but saw the awesome entries (still making my rounds, sigh I'm behind.... :-( ). However, this week I'm the hostess and I need some COLOR in my World!

That's right, this weeks challenge is to COLOR in my World and the colors I'm sort of stuck on right now are:

Dark Brown - Light Blue - Ivory

Is that not a yummy color combo? I think so :-). Ok, before I show what the gang came up with here's a few details.

This challenge will CLOSE on Tuesday, October 12th at 8PM Central time! The winner and runners up will be announced here Tuesday at midnight (notice I said "midnight" to give myself plenty of time, hehehehe).
